Just guessing without seeing the shirt, but the poster for these shows was done by Wes Wilson. Along with Alton Kelley, Stanley Mouse, Rick Griffen, Victor Moscoso and some others Wes did some REALLY cool posters/album covers for the GD in their early days (other bands too). I'm guessing this shirt is more of a nod to the art than to the show.

I think the art these guys did is really under appreciated by the general public.

See rockposters.com or "google" the names mentioned above to get an idea of what they did (I don't think 10/21/66 is a good example of Wilson's work).

yeah, that's the one. it didn't strike me as something that came out of 1966 either. though i am interested in the artists mentioned, i will check those out. but this shirt is bothering me. i'm going to ask the company if they know why they chose those dates.
